  1. Fight Back with Joy by Margaret Feinberg – A Christian woman’s journey through cancer and how she found biblical joy even in the darkest hours. I’m halfway through this and it resonates with me so much. I sent it to my mom (a recovering cancer patient) and she loves it too.
  2. All That Is in God by James E. Dolezal – James Dolezal wrote All That Is in God to help recover the basic truths about God at a time when Christians seem to have forgotten the historic understanding of God’s nature.
  3. The Way of the Dragon or the Way of the Lamb: Searching for Jesus’ Path of Power in a Church that Has Abandoned It by Kyle Strobel and Jamin Goggin. – Pastor Jamin Goggin and theology professor Kyle Strobel invite readers on a journey to uncover Jesus’ seemingly contradictory way to power: weakness.
  4. The Crucified Life: How to Live Out a Deeper Christian Experience by A.W. Tozer.
  5. The Gospel Comes with  a House Key: Practicing Radically Ordinary Hospitality in Our Post-Christian World by Rosaria Butterfield – Butterfield gives much needed perspective and encouragement regarding why hospitality is key to sharing the love of Christ with our believing and unbelieving neighbours.
  6. Didn’t See It Coming: Overcoming the Seven Greatest Challenges That No One Expects and Everyone Experiences by Carey Nieuwhof – Nieuwhof wants to help you avoid and overcome life’s seven hardest and most crippling challenges: cynicism, compromise, disconnectedness, irrelevance, pride, burnout, and emptiness. 
  7. She’s Gonna Blow by Julie Barnhill – A book on how to deal with anger.
  8. Everyone’s a Theologian by R. C. Sproul – What does the Bible teach? R. C. Sproul helps answer this question in one very readable book covering all of the critical topics found in Scripture.
